Coating analysis & damage assessment

Our services for you in the field of analytics:

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
A thermal analysis that measures the quantity of heat given off or absorbed by a sample to determine its glass transition temperature and reactivity. In some cases it is also possible to identify the degree of cross-linking of a cured powder coating.

Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)
Infrared spectroscopy is an analysis process based on infrared radiation which is used for the quantitative assessment of known substances. It allows us to identify the type of hardener or binder and the binder ratio and provides qualitative analyses of fillers and proof of the effectiveness of matting agents.

UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy
This analysis process uses light sources in the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared range to measure the reflection and transmission values of samples. These measurements enable us to determine the TSR value (total solar reflectance, in accordance with ASTM E 903) of coating samples and to identify the UV permeability of powder coatings.

Microscope analyses
Bright-field, dark-field and polarisation microscopy for the analysis of powder samples, surfaces and components. Using our ultra-modern digital stereo microscope, we can analyse your samples and provide you with high-resolution images and three-dimensional representations.

Quantitative analysis of powder coating composition, density and covering power
We use a variety of different test methods to quantify the composition of a powder coating or to identify its density and covering power so that we can determine how cost-effective it is.

Customer-specific analyses
We can offer a wide range of other types of analyses on request.
